Our Backgammon group has now settled into its new Wednesday afternoon slot every 3rd week from 2 till 4. Six people attended this month so we were able to play3 sets . There’s plenty of space for more to join who would like to come along and learn a new game or revisit an old favourite and share your skill. The new Backgammon Group met for the first time last month and following feedback has now moved the day we meet to accommodate more members. October's meeting will be on Wednesday 29th at 2 till 4 pm. From then on the group will run on the 3rd Wednesday in the afternoon 2 till 4 in the Council Chambers. This is to accommodate a free time slot from other groups running.
Please come along and join in, the game is easy to play and pick up as you go along. The subs will have to be £2 to £2.50 per session depending on attendance to cover the 2nd rise in Council charges for rooms this year. The new Backgammon group started on Monday 29th Sept at the Town Hall. Four players covered two boards, and remembering how to play had us all on our toes for a while, until it all came flooding back.
The Group meetings are going to move so more people can come, as it clashes with other meetings. The next one is due on Wed 29th Oct, due to holidays, and then settles into its usual new slot of every 3rd Wednesday of the month. So, November’s is on the 19th.
