So what are our Membership Fees? u3a Branches are funded in the main by Membership subscriptions. The Callington u3a individual Membership subscription for 2026/27 is £12.00. Joint Membership subscription is £22,00, and there is a half price reduction if you join after October 1st. If you would also like to be a member of other u3as (Associate Membership) there is a single additional fee of £8.00, or joint additional fee of £15.00. Membership subscription is due to be paid annually and runs from April (after the AGM) to March the following year. If you would also like to receive the quarterly u3a magazine "Third Age Matters'", aka TAM, this is directly mailed out by the Third Age Trust, for which the annual fee is £4.20. Contact our Branch Treasurer to order your copy for delivery. There is also a free shortened version of the magazine available online at u3a.org.uk Alternatively, there are a few copies available at our Monthly meetings for £1.00.
These subscriptions cover our administration costs, including an affiliation fee to the Third Age Trust. It entitles members to attend our Monthly Meetings, and to take part in one or several of our Interest Groups.. Membership also gives access to the Tamar Valley Network, a collection of local groups which offer learning and training opportunities. There is sometimes a small contribution towards the costs of our Group. Meetings, and other organised Events, especially if rooms have to be hired, or entrance or participation fees are charged, but these are decided by the members of the Groups involved.
If you are new to Callington u3a and decide to attend one of our Monthly Meetings, which take place at Callington Town Hall, just make yourself known at the reception desk so that we can welcome you and explain how our u3a runs. We also have also a range of Display Boards on view which detail all the Group activities that Callington u3a offers. We can also introduce you to a member of our u3a with whom you can sit and chat, before the Chair's "Church Notices", and the introduction of our Guest Speaker.
