Our Backgammon group meets monthly on Wednesday afternoon every 3rd week from 2 till 4. There’s plenty of space if you would like to join us, so why not drop in and learn a new game, or of course revisit an old favourite and share your skill. We are one of the newer Group to have started up in the last twelve months or so, and with the Group now growing in popularity as more people become aware of us. We came together for the first time on Monday 29th Sept 2025 when just four players covered two boards. Remembering how to play had us all on our toes, or should we say, fingers, for a while, until it all came flooding back.
We have recently been able to purchase additional game sets, so as to allow more players to take part, with everyone now able to play on a full size board. When new players join us they can watch a game or two to get an idea of how to play, become familiar with the board and ask any questions about the game actions. When ready to play a game they are paired up with someone who has experience of the game, and can show and give advice as they pick up and play the game.
If you are new to Backgammon, or would like to refresh past skills, why not come along and sit and watch a game or two before having a game yourself. Or you could dive straight in and let one of our helpful members give you guidance as you play together, all in the spirit of fun and sharing.
