Scribblers

The theme for this months get together was, "The seed was planted". We had a couple of absentees but still had an interesting session as always. We had gone for the seed of a thought and we had a good murder mystery which kept us guessing about the guilty party until the end. Had he or hadn't he? He had, as it turned out!

We also had a very topical story about some villagers setting up their own Dad's Army in response to the international news. This was very funny, although the seed of thought for the villagers began with the very worrying situation developing in the real world.

Then, for something different, one of our members who hadn't had time to finish her story tried an experiment with AI. It is something which we have discussed - how being creative and coming up with your own stories is unnecessary these days. Two different programmes had been fed the theme and each of them gave us a tree and each gave a philosophical meaning to the planting and the growth. One being a magical tree which grew alongside a young girl and illustrated her wishes in life; the second being planted without care in rough ground but still pushing through and coming good to stand tall and be admired. Personally, I think our own creative thoughts were better!

Next month's theme is fossil hunting. Let's hope no-one suggests we are indeed dinosaurs, not moving with the AI times
