Perhaps you fancy going for a casual walk, but worry that the excesses of Walkers 1, with their Stiles, and Hilly Bits, and Puddy Muddles are not for you. Then your'e probably more like me and are more likely to enjoy a gentle stroll with like minded oldies, where Tempus has most definitely Fugit. So our Strollers Group could well be just what you are looking for. We meet up, have a natter, decide where we're going, and wander off. Hopefully, not quite into the sunset- yet !! For further details, or if you'd like to come on an easy stroll, have a chat to Ann Ellard, via the Link above
Not sure if we were just quiet in August, or all away on our holidays, but moving on, then it was September. When we did manage to put in a couple of strolls, one to Cotehele, and another to Newbridge. But October's a new month, and the world, if not our oyster, is awaiting our gentle perambulations around this part of God's own County where we have made our home. Why not come and join in? Unlike Paul Daniels, you probably will like it, quite a lot.
Only a couple of strolls strolled in July due to the u3a monthly meeting, plus one stroll cancelled
due to the rain. These were to Tavistock and to Liskeard, where Anne had a quiz for us to do around the
town. We completed half of it and will do the remainder another day. I have to say it was really
enjoyable and we saw parts of Liskeard that we had never seen before.
Our strolls in June have taken us to Calstock, Siblyback, Looe and Treburley. The trip to Looe was uneventful, up to a point. Three of us went out in a glass bottom boat, primarily to see the seals, however we only saw the head of one, and that one quite far away. Also the most we saw from the bottom of the boat was a lot of seaweed, very little fish, and no seals, but it was a good boat trip.
On making our way back to the train station we stopped for ice creams, which seemed quite OK until we reached the police station, where I was attacked by three bloomin' great seagulls. To be honest there wasn't a lot of cornet left, but by the time all three had attacked, there was just a stump and no ice cream. I never realised how heavy they were. I thought once we had left the high street we would be clear of them, but no such luck!!!! Alfred Hitchcock's film "The Birds" sprang to mind. (Helen)

This is what can happen when we attempt to eat ice creams on Jonathan Livingstone Seagull's home patch.
Don't feed the natives.
